Getting started
Sign in, get a workspace, connect a repo, and ship — in minutes.
1. Sign in
- •Open the console and sign in with Google — there are no passwords.
- •Each account has a single workspace. If you don’t have one yet, click “Request a workspace” on your dashboard; it’s approved quickly.
2. Connect your repository
- •Open Repositories (under Settings) and connect GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket — authorize access once.
- •GitHub and GitLab list every repo your account can access. For Bitbucket, enter your workspace ID (the part after bitbucket.org/) first, then pick the repo you want to deploy.
3. Create a project
- •Go to Projects → New project and pick your app type: Static, React, Node, or Python.
- •Auto-detection: when you choose a repo, Shipyard inspects it (package.json, lockfiles, framework configs, requirements.txt/pyproject) and suggests the app type + build/runtime defaults (and whether a React/Static app runs its own server). Accept the suggestion or override anything.
- •Projects start with production + staging environments, pre-filled with sensible build settings for that type.
4. Deploy
- •Open the project, pick an environment, and click Deploy. Your app goes live over HTTPS at a URL like myapp--staging--ab12cd.apps.<domain>.
- •Turn on auto-deploy for an environment to deploy automatically on every push to its branch.
